Sony PD100A Camcorder

Flown on STS-114 Return To Flight Mission

This Sony PD100A Camcorder was flown in space during the Space Shuttle Program on STS-114. The camcorder is Class I flight hardware NASA part # SEZ16103293-301 s/n 1036 printed on a decal attached to top of camcorder. Original NASA cost was $2199.00. Included with lot is the original NASA parts bag.

Camcorder has a NASA custom mfg. mounting bracket. Bracket is used in mounting camcorder to Shuttle for hands-free recording.

This camcorder was one of two launched on STS-114. This particular camcorder was specifically to be used to record ISS assembly activities. There is no complete flight history, so it’s possible this camcorder was flown on other flight as well. One or two Sony PD100A Camcorders were flown on Space Shuttle flights and on the International Space Station from about 2000 to 2008 when it was replaced with the next generation camcorder.

Power cord, tape cassette and battery, not included, but these items can still be purchased on ebay should you want to use the camcorder. Camcorder was purchased as NASA Surplus.
